4-D Ultrasound

We had our 4-D ultrasound today. James would not cooperate at all but Jackson did. He was so precious he kept his hand over his face though. It was so neat. They are definitely cramped in there. We go back Monday and hopefully James will work with us. Here our a few pictures we have more but they are video rather than pictures.
Here is sweet Jackson:

Updates….

I am overdue for an update on some of our doctors’ visits. Everything seems to be progressing nicely along during this pregnancy even though we are high-risk. My hours for work have been significantly reduced by my doctor but as of now we are not on bedrest. I have had some issues with swelling and blood pressure but my blood pressure has been much better the past few weeks! My weight gain has not been to bad I have only gained 18 pounds overall which considering right now I am carrying a little over 4lbs of babies, plus, fluid and the placenta I am not upset by that number. 2 weeks ago I had my glucose screening. I was dreading this test. I was told that there is a much higher prevalence of gestational diabetes in twin pregnancies and I have a horrible family history related to diabetes. I went to the doctor and drank this horrible, horrible glucose drink. Seriously how do kids drink such sweet drinks it reminded me of those jug drinks for kids. Then I had to wait a hour to get my blood drawn. At the end of the hour I felt like crap, like I was going to pass out. So I left and grabbed something to eat. I waitied and waited for the dreaded call that I had failed and needed to take a 3 hour test but I PASSED. My blood sugar was perfect, what a relief! My doctor said Monday that we will have these babies in 8-10 weeks which is crazy! We are so excited but nervous!  at our Ultrasound yesterday they said the boys are showing no evidence of TTTS and the fluid discrepancy has resolved it self, Praise the Lord! So we are doing great there are a few things they are still monitoring in the boys but we are totally giving those worries to the Lord knowing He is in complete control! Thank you for all your prayers and keep them coming!

We are MOVING!!!!

I am so excited to make this post. For months Bob and I have been looking for the perfect rental house to live in, we have searched and searched. Finally last week Bob and I found the perfect house. We then found out we were not the only ones who fell in love with the house. So after a week of anxious waiting we got the long awaited phone call today! We GOT THE HOUSE!!! We are so excited! This will be the perfect house to bring our two sweet boys home to.  It is 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and brand new! It has a beautiful kitchen, the perfect room for a nursery, and a wonderful master suite! We are beyond elated!!!
Don’t you just love it, it is so cute!
Let the packing begin!

Made with Love…

Today Bob and I did something we have been wanting to do for a long time. We went to Build-A-Bear and made each of the boys their very own puppy. We both wanted to give them something special for them to treasure as they grew up and what better way than helping create their very first stuffed animals. We choose the most darling puppies. Each puppy has two hearts inside of it one from mommy and one from daddy. We stuffed them, “bathed” them, and gave them each birth certificates. We look forward to one day taking the boys back to the store to pick out clothing for their puppies, although Bob was tempted to buy them Star War’s outfits today. It was a wonderful experience I can not wait to give them to these precious boys who are kicking all around inside me! I hope that they treasure these puppies and when they see them they are reminded how much their mommy and daddy loves them even before they were born.
Are they not the cutest, yes Bob is too!
Bob said they were much easier to bath than Izzy!

When we got them home we had a little car seat fun

Kids Exchange…

Last weekend Bob and I went to our first ever consignment sale. It was insane but very organized. It is known as one of the largest kids consignment sales in North Carolina. Bob and I got there early with a plan in mind we went shopping for the big items, swings. We had no clue what to expect, hence why we seemed like the only ones with out laundry baskets and empty strollers. We waited in a line that was wrapped all around the arena at the state fairgrounds, glad we were there early. When we got in we were able to find 2 swings, just like the ones we had picked out at Babies”R”Us. Then we found two Graco car seats. We also got car seat head supports and also a few clothes. Bob really wanted to get the boys some toys but not this trip. We got everything for $200, it was over $700 worth of stuff!

 Our Loot

 Izzy tried out the swing.
She has also has been in the car seats she can not quite figure it all out.

It was a great experience and we definitely will be going back. Bob and I have already found a few more sales we want to go to as well.

Catch Up…

I need to play catch up. I know is almost the end of January but time has really gotten away from me! Christmas was great a little bittersweet as this was our last Christmas as a family. Bob and I celebrated Christmas in North Carolina with the Smithermans, McIntyres, and Lewis’. We are so blessed to have a wonderful community group from church that has become like family to us. The day after Christmas we had tons of snow as you may remember from my last post.  January has flown by I absolutely forgot to make New Years resolutions but to be honest I am not sure what to expect this year. I can not believe in just a few short months we will be parents and not just parents to one baby but two an instant family of four. That is mind blowing!  There is not to much to catch you up on simply because our lives are pretty quiet right now. Bob started back seminary last week. He is taking a full load and hoping the babies come during spring break, we will see. I have had to reduce my hours significantly at work because of the babies, but as long as I am not on bed rest right now I am a happy camper we are just having to learn to be very frugal with our money. Our biggest obstacle lately has been that our lease is up right when the babies our due so we having been trying to deal with our living arrangements. We live in a 2 bedroom apartment now and are really tired of apartment living thanks to our loud, obnoxious neighbors. We have been looking for place to move for a few months now. We decided that even thought the housing market is ideal for buyers right now we are not going to try to buy a house because we are not sure how long we will be in North Carolina. Bob has about 2 more years on his MDIV but is not sure where he is going to get his PhD degree from. We began looking at houses to rent but did not really want to raise our expenses with the cost of two babies we are adding to the budget this year. This has proven to be a challenge since things are way overpriced up here. Last week we actually found a house that we liked that is closer to the seminary and our church family and only about a 10 minute increase in my work commute. We are going to look at it today. It is actually a brand new house that the owner bought just for rental purposes so far it seems like an answer to prayer so hopefully it will all work out. I will keep you posted. I think you are all caught up on our life now. I told you there was not to much going on!

Bedding Dilemma…

You may remember our post Nursery inspiration.  Since I found out I was pregnant I know I wanted the cute Eli Elephant Bedding from Pottery Barn Kids (PBK’s) for our nursery if we were having boys.  I really thought the matter was settled because both Bob and I loved the bedding but then the other night Bob was browsing websites and found some other bedding he liked and now we have a dilemma. PBK’s has slowly been retiring pieces in the beloved bedding set and even after spending many hours online the retired pieces are hard to find. So after all this we now have a bedding dilemma. I really love the piece Bob has picked out and I love the Eli Elephant. So maybe you can help us by telling us which one you like because we are having a hard time deciding.
Here is the Eli Elephant bedding:
I love the cute little elephants and the color of the bedding.

The new bedding in the mix is Carter’s Forest Friends. It is just adorable. I love the neutral colors with the blue and green accents. It also seems like it something they can use a little longer because it is not so baby plus it has all the accessories that you can order to accent the nursery. This is now Bob’s favorite and I like it too.
What do you think which one do you like more??
